Last October, $440 million-asset Alliance Bank in Francesville, Ind., donated $1,000 to the Community Wellness Center of Winamac, a local gym. Alliance Bank has made this pledge for the past 13 years in support of the gym’s youth programs, which foster community involvement and physical wellness.
When choosing when and where to donate, Kelsie Zellers, AVP and relationship manager at Alliance Bank’s Winamac branch, notes that the community bank “[makes] it a priority to contribute to organizations that share similar values.” Through these donations, Alliance Bank further commits itself to the communities it serves and invests in their future economic development and enrichment.
“We continually receive positive feedback from the community about our involvement,” says Zellers. “When there is an upcoming event that needs manpower, we have had community members recommend Alliance Bank as the first to ask because they are so accustomed to seeing us out and about.”
This strong community presence helps Alliance in its recruitment efforts, too: Six experienced bankers recently chose to work there because of it. Alliance believes that what you give to your community, you get back in spades. According to Zellers, “When Alliance Bank grows, our community grows.”
