ICBA supports proposal to increase Same Day ACH limit
December 19, 2025 / By ICBA
ICBA said it supports Nacha’s proposal to increase the Same Day ACH dollar limit to $10 million while acknowledging the risk and efficiency concerns this expansion presents.
Details: In a letter to Nacha, ICBA said:
ICBA supports efforts to advance faster payments in the United States while maintaining a safe and efficient system.
The proposal will align the dollar limits of the store and forward SDA transactions with modern real-time gross settlement systems, such as RTP and FedNow, providing consistent dollar limits across payment rails.
Resources for Community Bankers: ICBA encourages community banks to use Nacha’s ACH Contact Registry, which includes thousands of fraud contacts, including ACH, wire and check contacts, to research transactions with bank contacts. ICBA also offers an on-demand webinar on ACH Fraud Prevention and Nacha’s New Rules.
