ICBA President and CEO Rebeca Romero Rainey urged community bankers to call their members of Congress and enlist the support of small-business contacts on behalf of Paycheck Protection Program forgiveness legislation.
In a message to community bankers, Romero Rainey noted ICBA has added a call alert for small-business owners to its existing alert for community bankers on its Be Heard grassroots action center.
The ICBA-advocated Paycheck Protection Small Business Forgiveness Act (S. 4117/H.R. 7777) would forgive PPP loans of $150,000 or less, providing small businesses needed relief and preserving the success of the program.
"Lawmakers need to hear directly from community bankers and small-business owners on why they need to act now," Romero Rainey said.
