Details: In the letter, Stabenow said her “vision for modernizing the safety net” centers on five key principles:
Targeting programs to active farmers.
Providing farmers choices and flexibility.
Offering timely assistance.
Expanding the reach of programs to help more farmers.
Addressing the emerging risks farmers face.
