Thanks to Legends Bank, local charities have financial support to bolster their efforts. Since 2020, the $824 million-asset bank in Clarksville, Tenn., has hosted its annual Game Changer Charity Clay Shoot event to raise funds for organizations that are making a difference in the community.
The community bank had held client events in the past. But in 2018, it decided to take its private golf event public and add a fundraising component, said Britney Campbell, SVP of marketing and public relations. The clay shoot replaced the golf event in 2020.
At the event, hosted by Cross Creek Clays in Palmyra, Tenn., the bank welcomes 80 to 100 people, including volunteers, employees and members of the community. Each year, Legends Bank assists a different charity, taking into consideration nominations from its employees.
“We encourage [employees] to get on boards and committees with these organizations to help us decide who we are going to choose each year,” said Campbell.
Legends Bank has raised $80,000 in total donations and sponsorships. “Being a community bank, we support many local nonprofits within our market footprint,” said Campbell. “This was just one of our ways to do something more publicly and invite people to come and be a part of giving back and providing a different way of giving support to a local charity.”
