The Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council released data on 2019 mortgage lending transactions covered by the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act.
The Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council released data on 2019 mortgage lending transactions covered by the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act. The number of reporting institutions declined by roughly 3 percent from the previous year to 5,508.
Among the 15.1 million reported home loan applications, 12.5 million were closed-end (up 21 percent), 2.1 million were open-end (down 9 percent), and another 442,000 were not reported as closed-end or open-end due to the S. 2155 regulatory relief law's partial exemptions.
