ICBA ensures community bank perspective is represented in AI security discussions
April 15, 2026 / By ICBA
Amid ongoing developments regarding artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, ICBA is working with relevant vendors and organizations to ensure community banker perspectives are considered.
Background: After Anthropic announced that its Claude Mythos AI model could identify and exploit vulnerabilities in many operating systems, the company formed Project Glasswing, an initiative that brings together large corporations in an effort to secure critical software. OpenAI also recently announced a cybersecurity pilot called Trusted Access for AI.
ICBA Advocacy:
ICBA has engaged members of Project Glasswing to work collaboratively and elevate community bank concerns.
ICBA this month launched its AI Task Force and Advisory Group, with nearly 100 bankers from 39 states who will help identify practical steps community banks can continue taking to support AI readiness.
ICBA has also engaged Treasury and White House officials on these developments and will continue providing updates as additional information becomes available.
