Chelsea Groton Foundation Presents Scholarships to 19 Rising College Students

GROTON, Conn. – The Chelsea Groton Foundation recently presented scholarships to a select group of graduating seniors who represent 19 area high schools. Each of the individuals who applied for the scholarships excelled in academia, leadership and extracurricular activities during their high school years, and plans to pursue college degrees.

“The Foundation is committed to giving back to our communities. One of the best ways we are able to do this is by investing in the next generation of young adults, and supporting them as they work to achieve their goals,” said Michael Rauh, President & CEO of Chelsea Groton Bank. “The scholarship recipients are a distinguished group of students with bright futures ahead of them. We wish them the best as they pursue their college education.”

The 19 recipients of $500 scholarships were: Rachel Goldstein of The Williams School; Cody Johnson of Wheeler High School; Deandra Tucker of Westerly High School; Samuel Kasem-Beg of Waterford High School; Madison Geiger of Stonington High School; Henry Cox of St. Bernards High School; Robert Kolodziej of Marine Science Magnet High School; Gabriella Farinha of Norwich Free Academy; Mitchell Johnson of Glastonbury High School; Nichole Roman of New London High School; Katiria Nadal of Ledyard High School; Nehemiah Robinson of Ella T. Grasso Southeastern Technical High School; Syllica Hernandez of Norwich Technical High School; Devin Kicsera of Fishers Island School; Tina Wang of East Lyme High School; Faizan Shariff of Fitch Senior High School; Giselle Malloy of Science & Technology Magnet High School; Ethan Couillard of Montville High School; and Vanessa Swepson of Griswold High School.
