Fannie, Freddie Ending Rental-Market Expansion

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are ending their expansion into the single-family rental market, the Federal Housing Finance Agency said. The enterprises will conclude their single-family rental pilot programs and then limit their participation to their existing investor programs.
Through their pilot programs and related analyses over the past two years, the GSEs learned that the market performs well without their added liquidity, FHFA Director Melvin Watt said.Read More from FHFA
