Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Director Rohit Chopra are among the speakers set to address next week’s 2023 ICBA Capital Summit in Washington, D.C.
Speaker Lineup: Scheduled for May 14-17 in the nation’s capital, the summit also will feature Sen. Kevin Cramer (R-N.D.), Reps. Andy Barr (R-Ky.) and Roger Williams (R-Texas), former FDIC Chair Sheila Bair, former Kansas City Fed President and CEO Esther George, representatives from the federal banking agencies, and more.
Be Heard: Meanwhile, community bankers can use ICBA’s Be Heard grassroots action center to alert lawmakers of upcoming meetings and lay out top issues for discussion, including differentiating community banks, repealing the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s 1071 rule, and opposing a U.S. central bank digital currency.
Lobbying Materials: ICBA has also released its Capital Summit advocacy materials, including a lobby card and one-pagers, on priority issues heading into the in-person meetings.
