ICBA pushes for harmonization of cyber incident reporting rules
June 22, 2026 / By ICBA
ICBA told federal regulators that community banks support strong cybersecurity but pushed for a process where information can be shared across the appropriate federal agencies.
Details: Speaking at a Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency town hall Cyber Incident Reporting for Critical Infrastructure Act (CIRCIA) rulemaking, ICBA Vice President of Operational Risk Anjelica Dortch said:
ICBA has long supported CIRCIA and the importance of timely cyber incident reporting.
Community banks understand that information sharing is essential to protecting critical infrastructure and strengthening our collective cybersecurity posture.
As CISA finalizes CIRCIA, ICBA encourages the agency to look for opportunities to streamline, harmonize, and eliminate duplicative reporting requirements wherever possible.
