In late 2022, Clinton Savings Bank in Clinton, Mass., donated $1,500 to Animal Adventures, an exotic animal rescue in Bolton, Mass. The rescue organization’s mission is to protect and house unwanted animals, and it offers educational seminars and tours to increase knowledge and curiosity about exotic animals. It receives about 300 animal surrenders a year, including lemurs, lynx, owls, chinchillas and even alligators.

Animal Adventures’ mission resonated with employees of the $700 million-asset community bank, according to its president and chief executive officer, Robert J. Paulhus Jr.

“The three major concepts of animal welfare—health and production, natural behavior, and feelings—all hit home to our employees here at the bank,” Paulhus explained.

Clinton Savings Bank has supported Animal Adventures for more than 25 years. Paulhus toured Animal Adventures in 2022, which left him “in awe of the sheer number of animals and variety of species they provide care for.” The organization houses reptiles, mammals, birds and amphibians—in other words, every class of vertebrate animal except fish.

“Supporting Animal Adventures is one way in which [Clinton Savings Bank] can protect animals,” said Paulhus. “Every animal and human deserves to have a safe home and a good life.”
