On June 17, the ICBA political action committee (PAC) hosted its 19th Annual Golf Classic at the Minneapolis Golf Club in St. Louis Park, Minn. With the 2024 election approaching, the Golf Classic allowed community bankers to hit some balls, have fun and network while supporting ICBA PAC.
Funds raised from the event will go toward both ICBA PAC’s advocacy efforts and financially supporting members of Congress who speak up on behalf of the community banking industry. As the only federal political action committee dedicated exclusively to representing community banks, ICBA PAC is supported by thousands of community bankers across the country.
“It was an honor to join key ICBA leadership bankers in Minnesota who believe in investing in our industry,” said Doug Parrott, ICBA PAC chairman and president and CEO of State Bank of Toulon in Toulon, Ill. “Positioning ICBA PAC with robust resources going into the 2024 election strengthens our advocacy efforts and overall industry mission. ICBA membership is generous with their support of ICBA PAC, to ensure community banking voices are heard by policymakers who engage in our top issues.”
Mary Randolph Gannon, ICBA PAC vice president, political operations, echoed that sentiment. “ICBA bankers understand what a vital tool ICBA PAC is and will be as the industry welcomes a new Congress at the beginning of 2025,” she said. “Contributions from ICBA membership allow ICBA PAC to strategically identify opportunities to enhance ICBA’s visibility in Washington and build community bank champions in Congress.”
