I began my fitness journey when I found a coach, and she helped me fuel my fire a little bit, so much so that I knew that I wanted to do that for others. Because it was such an impactful lifestyle change for me, I wanted others to … feel that same joy and excitement and accomplishment.

I’m a huge advocate for, if you’re wanting to start your fitness journey, [finding] someone who is wanting to go on that journey as well and pair up with them—because you have somebody dependent on you, and that is going to affect your results.

My Wednesday night workout [is] free to the community, and it [is] just at our local Stephenville High School track. … Since day one, we had a tremendous turnout with people just wanting to—even if it was just that one day a week—come out and get their bodies moving, and that’s all I asked them to do. Like, “Come out, show up, do your best.”

I got to do some fun things with [running]. I would find races that were just fun. … When we were scheduling our vacations in Hawaii last summer, lo and behold, I found a half marathon. [It] just so happened to be during the week that we were there, so I got to run a half marathon in Hawaii, which was absolutely beautiful.
