President Joe Biden announced his intent to nominate Christy Goldsmith Romero as chair of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.
President Joe Biden announced his intent to nominate Christy Goldsmith Romero as chair of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Background: Goldsmith Romero has served as a commissioner at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission since March 2022. She previously served for 12 years at the Treasury Department, including a decade as the special inspector general for the Troubled Asset Relief Program.
The White House also nominated:
Kristin Johnson as assistant secretary for financial institutions at the Treasury Department.
Caroline Crenshaw as a member of the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Gordon Ito as a member of the Financial Stability Oversight Council.
