Federal working group designed to boost CDFI access to capital

The Community Development Financial Institutions Fund and the Federal Housing Finance Agency announced the formation of a working group to increase capital for affordable housing lending from the Federal Home Loan Banks.

New Working Group: The agencies said the CDFI Fund-FHFA Working Group will help more CDFIs access affordable capital from the FHLBs to address affordable housing needs in distressed communities not served by traditional banks and lenders.

Priority Issues: Initial topics and priorities for 2024-2025 include new programs and approaches for non-depository CDFI members, property appraisal and collateral mechanisms and valuation methods, data sharing on non-depository CDFI activities, and performance.
