Washington, D.C. (July 15, 2025)—Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) President and CEO Rebeca Romero Rainey issued the following statement on the Senate confirmation of President Donald Trump’s nomination of Luke Pettit to be Treasury assistant secretary for financial institutions.
“ICBA and the nation’s community banks congratulate Luke Pettit on his Senate confirmation to be Treasury assistant secretary for financial institutions.
“As a senior policy adviser to Sen. Bill Hagerty, an economist for the Senate Banking Committee, an asset manager in the private sector, and an official at the Federal Reserve’s Division of Monetary Affairs, Mr. Pettit has highly relevant experience for this critical role of supporting the strength of the nation’s financial sector.
“We look forward to working closely with Mr. Pettit, the Trump administration, and the 119th Congress to continue advancing the critical policy reforms outlined in our ‘Repair, Reform, and Thrive’ plan and open letter to the 119th Congress.”
