ICBA and other groups expressed concerns with a Federal Housing Finance Agency plan to publish historical data on the VantageScore 4.0 credit scoring model this year.
Background: The FHFA earlier this year announced that it will accelerate the publication of VantageScore 4.0 historical data, originally expected to be published in the first quarter of 2025, to early in the third quarter of this year.
ICBA View: ICBA is concerned that the FHFA is unnecessarily accelerating this process by initiating the publication of VantageScore 4.0 data without doing the same for FICO 10T, potentially bifurcating any analysis.
Joint Letter: In a new joint letter, ICBA and other groups said the current plan for publishing the VantageScore 4.0 historical dataset will be insufficient to meet Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac data analytics needs. They said the FHFA should augment the data ahead of the third-quarter release and requested a meeting to discuss their concerns.
