Trump issues order on PE firms buying homes

President Donald Trump issued an executive order to restrict private equity firms’ ability to purchase single-family homes.
Details: The order directs the Federal Housing Finance Agency and other agencies to block large institutional investors from receiving government support when buying single-family homes that could otherwise be purchased by an individual owner-occupant.
Outlook: The agencies have 60 days to issue guidance facilitating the implementation of the executive order.
More: The order also instructs the deputy chief of staff for legislative, political, and public affairs to prepare legislative recommendations to codify the proposed policies.
