Federal Reserve Governor Michael Barr said the Federal Open Market Committee should act decisively to raise rates if inflation doesn’t moderate sufficiently.
Details: Speaking in Washington, Barr said there has been enormous progress from inflation's peak of more than 7% in 2022 to just above 2% in 2024, but progress stalled due to shocks such as tariffs, conflict in the Middle East, and the rapid AI buildout.
